On Friday 6 March, Fortis together with our construction partner ICON, celebrated an important milestone at Regency House, Elizabeth Bay with a groundbreaking ceremony on site. The event marked the official start of construction and symbolised the moment where vision moves into action, as the project begins to take shape.
Speaking at the ceremony, Fortis General Manager, Development — NSW, Ed Eve, reflected on the significance of securing such a rare site in Elizabeth Bay — a blue‑chip suburb renowned for some of Australia’s most exceptional real estate. He noted that opportunities of this calibre are becoming increasingly scarce, with development approvals for luxury projects of this type now far more difficult to obtain in Elizabeth Bay. Ed spoke to the detailed and highly considered process that has brought Regency House to this stage, underscoring the responsibility of delivering a project that reflects the prestige and character of its location.
Ed also highlighted the strength of the partnership with ICON, noting that Regency House marks the second project the two teams have undertaken together, following the Woollahra Collection, which is now nearing completion. He acknowledged how this earlier collaboration helped cement a strong working relationship, enabling both teams to approach Regency House with a shared understanding, aligned expectations and a commitment to excellence. Ed also recognised ICON’s performance on this complex site, including the successful completion of excavation ahead of main works, and spoke to the strong momentum now building as the project moves confidently into its construction phase.
ICON NSW/ACT Director, Marc Avery, also addressed attendees, speaking to ICON’s commitment to delivering Regency House to the highest standard. He reflected on the collaborative relationship with Fortis, the trust built through the Woollahra Collection, and the shared ambition to bring this rare and significant project to life.
Fortis extends our thanks to ICON and our broader project partners for their continued contribution as Regency House enters its next phase.
