The site

On the city-fringe at Palmerston Crescent in South Melbourne, this 589m2 site will offer unobstructed views of Melbourne’s CBD whilst only being a short walk from the upcoming Anzac Station and South Melbourne Markets. Offering over 1,900m2 of commercial office space, the building will provide tenants with the option to occupy a range of floorplate sizes, while the private landscaped panoramic rooftop terrace adds to the overall sense of belonging.

Design

On entry, a statement canopy tree lends an established feel to the welcoming lobby. Rising through the building, the breathtaking views are maximised via a series of striking framing elements.

Dynamic design and natural light flow throughout, offset by natural stone, curved archways, full-height glass and exposed ceilings.

Process

We entered into a collaboration with one of Australia’s leading architecture firms, Ewert Leaf, to determine the creative vision. It saw an in-house design competition with five internal teams of architects at Ewert Leaf each submitting their own designs for the nine-storey commercial and retail space. The Ewert Leaf competition winners then worked closely with our team to realise the final designs.

Construction

The level 6 slab has now been poured at Pallas House Melbourne, and our first set of iconic archways for the level 4 terrace have landed.

Cobild are working diligently towards their next milestone; topping out in January 2022, and base build completion remains on track for August 2022.
