589 Toorak Road, Toorak, VIC
Completed Q1 2021 / 7 residences
With its timeless allure, Toorak is one of those suburbs that’s almost impossible to leave—so few ever do. Decades of trade. Generations of families. For Ode to stand the test of time, we knew it needed to become enveloped in Toorak’s history.
Situated between Lansell and St Georges Roads, moments to Toorak Village, Ode’s seven residences exude raw sophistication. Outside, bold refinement. Inside, an inviting warmth: detailed touches, natural stone and a neutral palette adding layers of texture and comfort to the bright, airy interiors. Timeless. Beautiful. A living tribute to Toorak, and those who reside in it.

The design of Ode was rooted in the idea of contributing to the future narrative of Toorak. Creating a well-mannered building that will age gracefully, and provide timeless gravitas in an eclectic architectural setting. A boutique building of four levels designed by Ewert Leaf, with six half-floor residences crowned by a full-floor penthouse.
“The white bricks have been laid in a vertical stack bond over a steel lintel to provide a unique modern aesthetic that retains the buildings minimal materiality.”
Catheryn Tattersall, Architect, Ewert Leaf
The use of imported European white Morada bricks, contrasted by cascade planting, gives the residences an air of legacy. Durable materials continue through to the interiors, with natural stone slabs, hard-wearing timber floorboards and 100% wool broadloom carpet.
