A keystone moment

Ruby House celebrates topping out milestone

Ruby House, Double Bay

Events

On Thursday 17 July, Fortis, together with our trusted construction partner Lords Group, celebrated the topping out of Ruby House—a tradition marking the placement of the final structural element.

The ceremony brought together project partners, consultants, trades, tenants, and community representatives to celebrate the progress of a development that serves as a new gateway to Double Bay and embodies Fortis’ bold vision for the suburb’s ongoing revitalisation.

Jad Maroun, Founder and CEO of Lords Group, spoke on the strength of the partnership with Fortis, noting the shared commitment to quality and delivery, and highlighted that the project marks the ninth collaboration between Fortis and Lords Group across our NSW pipeline. An olive tree was then craned onto the rooftop to symbolise peace, prosperity, strength, and good fortune.

Ed Eve, General Manager of Development—NSW at Fortis, also addressed attendees, reflecting on Ruby House’s importance to both Fortis and Double Bay: “For those that know what we’ve been doing in Double Bay, our vision is to continue to bring excellent retail and commercial amenity into the suburb, and to continue to drive the local economy.”

Ideally positioned in the vibrant centre of Double Bay village, Ruby House places occupants just footsteps from Bay Street’s premium retail, dining, and amenities, with Double Bay Wharf on its doorstep.

With construction on track, this milestone represents a watershed moment in bringing this landmark project to life—one that will shape Double Bay for generations to come.
