Fortis has commenced construction on its fourth Brisbane project following strong early sales.

The 20-storey apartment project, at 12 Kyabra Street in Newstead, will include 65 two- and three-bedroom units. Amenities include a rooftop communal space with a pool, a sun lounge, BBQ facilities and a sauna.

Binah has been appointed as the builder for the development.

Known as Crest & Walker, the scheme has secured $29.1m across 15 unconditional presales, or around 23% of total residences. Apartments are on the market following a public launch on June 6.

Prices for Crest & Walker units start at $1.8m. Slaite Projects is handling the sales campaign.

A Slaite spokesperson said interest is coming from local professionals, downsizers and investors.

Sydney-based Fortis achieved council approval for the project in March. The plans were upscaled from the site’s original 11-storey, mixed-use iteration prior to Fortis’ acquisition in 2022. The 921 sq m Kyabra Street site was bought for around $6m.

This follows its first three apartment projects in Brisbane, River House at Kangaroo Point, Racecourse Road in Hamilton, and Bowen Terrace in New Farm.

Fortis is the development arm of Pallas Group.
