On Tuesday, 25 August, Fortis, along with Lamaro’s Hotel, Christie’s International Real Estate, RT Edgar, and Beverley Pinder OAM, hosted an evening of conversation, connection and collaboration focused on the future of Fitzroy Street, St Kilda.
Bringing together more than 70 business leaders, property experts, hospitality operators and the local community, the event explored opportunities shaping one of Melbourne’s most distinctive and evolving precincts.
Fortis Group General Manager – Development, Ed Eve welcomed guests, and set the scene for the evening’s panel discussion, sharing Fortis’ vision for The Gild and its role in shaping Fitzroy Street’s next chapter.

Journalist, Seb Costello, moderated the panel which brought together key guests Paul Dimattina, a future tenant at The Gild and owner of Lamaro’s Hotel, Lizzette Atkins, local film producer and St Kilda advocate, Ricky Jeffs, Erdi CEO, and Luke Harris, President of the Collins Street Precinct.
The discussion centred on the ongoing transformation of Fitzroy Street, the role of hospitality, arts and local business in strengthening community, and how thoughtful investment can support the precinct’s next chapter while respecting its storied character.
